In the present work, reaction of propene with CO & NH3 gives amines in 90% yield: - Me-CH=CH2+CO+NH3+H2 = C4H9-NH2 The catalyst is a mix of Rh(I) & Ir(I) chelated by sulfonated 2,2'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl. Rh leads to high selectivity & Ir gives fast hydrogenation of the intermediate imine |
