Method of treating shallow apthous ulcers in the oral mucosa comprising directly topically administering in dry form a troche or powder consisting of a dry dosage of an antibiotic selected from the group consisting of penicillins, beta-lactam antibiotics, tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, cephalosporins, macrolides, vancomycin, bacitracin, chloramphenicol & their salts & mixt - Wherein the troche or powder delivers directly to the ulcer a dosage concn level of the antibiotic which is higher in comparison to dosage concn levels achieved if the antibio tic is delivered to the ulcer through blood by conventional GI absorption, intramuscular or intravenous injection of the antibiotic |
