(a) Adding tobacco materials (50-100 parts) to vessel contg water (100-200 parts) & chemical additives (2-40 parts) including NH4 salt (1-10 part) & urea (1-10 part) resulting mixt being first tobacco slurry (I) (b) Bringing (I) to T = 200-420F with 60-400 psi of saturated steam & holding for 1-5 min (c) Reducing pressure on (I) to ambient from 0.1- 1,0 min (d) Adding water to (I) to 120-180F for 2-5 min (e) Heating second tobacco slurry (II) 120-180F for 2-5 min (f) Removing water & solubles from (II) to form third tobacco slurry (III) contg 50-60% of water & first extract (g) Reducing particle size of tobacco materials in (III) (h) Adding water to (III) to form fourth slurry (IV) having 1-4% tobacco (i) Forming sheet of tobacco using (IV) having 10-30% moisture |
