| PATENT CLAIMS |
(a) Passing the said effluent from the bath through first aq. alkaline scrubber to remove higher oxidation forms of NOx & SOx & acid gases with the formation & removal of nitrate salts & sulfate salts
(b) Treating gaseous effluent from (a) with gas mixt contg ozone to oxidize NOx & SOx to higher oxidation forms wherein the concn of ozone therein is such that molar ratio O3/(NOx+SOx) in effluent is 0.7:1 to 1.4:1
(c) Passing the resultant gas mixt through second aq alkaline scrubber to remove additional higher oxidation forms of NOx & SOx formed in (b) with the formation & removal of nitrate & sulfate salts
