"I can make compounds on a ROMPgel that you can't make on polystyrene supports.And the activity and reaction rate of ROMPgels are high because they are flow-through materials, whereas conventional solid supports only carry active groups on their surfaces. Typically with polystyrene reagents, one would use three or four equivalents, and the reactions are slow," Barrett said. "With ROMPgels, we would typically use about 1.2 equivalents, and the reactions are fast." |
