BASF to tackle novel polymers in new R&D lab
BASF has begun setting up a new research lab in Strasbourg, France, at the Institute of Supramolecular Science & Engineering (ISIS), founded by Chemistry Nobel Laureate Jean-Marie Lehn to foster interaction between academic and industrial researchers. Lehn's concept centers on allowing selected companies to use labs and facilities at ISIS, an affiliate of Louis Pasteur University. BASF researcher and team leader Volker Schädler is assembling laboratory equipment for himself and four young colleagues to focus on research into novel, nanostructured polymer materials and polymer-based specialty chemicals
