PEAKDALE MOLECULAR ENTERS INTO MULTI-YEAR COLLABORATION WITH PFIZER The UK’s fastest growing contract chemistry company, Peakdale Molecular Ltd., announced today that it has entered into a multi-year agreement to provide contract discovery chemistry services to Pfizer. The compounds, synthesised by Peakdale, will augment Pfizer’s existing internal drug discovery programs. Peakdale’s founder and Commercial Director, Dr. Ray Fisher comments, ‘This agreement with Pfizer, the world’s largest pharmaceutical company, marks a milestone in our mission to become a leading global supplier of drug discovery and development services.’ Peakdale’s Derbyshire, UK, headquarters is designed to a unique, modular concept, with each laboratory benefiting from a 250k GBP fit-out and featuring eight fume cupboards in a standard layout. Every laboratory unit is staffed by a highly skilled team of chemists, comprising of a Technical Manager supported by five scientists, and acts as an individual business unit. The flexibility of this structure allows additional teams to be allocated to a project as it develops, with clear points of contact and responsibility. Founded in 1992, Peakdale’s business and reputation was built on an ability to design and synthesise unique intermediates for pharmaceutical research. These skills are now being targeted at drug discovery support for Peakdale’s customers that range from global pharmaceutical majors to biotechnology companies. |
