Bayer extends genomics deal Bayer Healthcare and Millennium Pharmaceuticals concluded their five-year genomics research agreement on Oct. 31 and have extended it to give Bayer access to an additional 280 potential drug targets for up to seven years. During the collaboration, Bayer moved more than 180 targets into various stages of assay configuration and drug discovery, with two projects yielding preclinical candidates. Millennium was to receive $465 million under the original deal and royalties on any resulting products; the companies have not disclosed the terms of the extension |
