Mfg process of synthetic dolomite from dead burned dolomite in a single sintering step, for the mfg of refractory bricks & other prodts, comprising - Grinding low grade raw dolomite to size from 100% by wt of -100 mesh screen to 90% by wt of -200 mesh screen to obtain ground dolomite - Incorporating Fe2O3 additive (0.1-0.8%) - Uniformly mixing - Compacting mixt to form briquettes having d. = 2-2.5 - Sieving to eliminate fine particles & low hardness mate rials - Burning at 1700-2000C for 1.5-2 hours to provide sintered burnt compacted pieces - Cooling to produce a synthetic dolomite having d. > 3.23 & tendency to hydration < 10% by wt. |
