OBSERVATION'S |
In the heart of the sparsely settled northern third of Chile is the completely barren ATACAMA DESERT, parts of which have never recorded any rainfall. The desert houses the SALAR DE ATACAMA, a Rhode Island-sized basin covered with a crust of discolored salt. Just feet below the surface of this salar rests a BRINE high in lithium, magnesium, potassium & sodium chlorides as well as BORON |
