It wasn t until 2002 that other groups came onto the scene. For example, a group led by biologist Denong Wang, currently at Stanford University, spotted pathogen-based polysaccharides and glycoconjugates onto glass chips by using high-precision robots developed earlier for DNA microarrays. Wang and coworkers then used the arrays to look at the carbohydrate-binding specificity of antibodies and other proteins.
